Carmontelle (1717–1806)

Carmontelle, Louis Carrogis, called (kär-mô-tel’). A French poet and proverb-writer; born in Paris, Aug. 15, 1717; died there, Dec. 26, 1806. His fame rests upon ‘Dramatic Proverbs’ or epigrammatic plays upon words.
