Charles Duveyrier (1803–1866)

Duveyrier, Charles (dü-vā-ryā’). A French dramatist (1803–66); born at Paris. Of the 300 or more pieces which bear his name, there may be mentioned: ‘Frontin the Husband-Bachelor’; ‘Valerie,’ in which Mdlle. Mars made a brilliant success; ‘The Cat Metamorphosed into a Woman’; ‘Figaro’s Daughter’; ‘The Burgomaster of Saardam.’
