Thomas Ellwood (1639–1713)

Ellwood, Thomas. An English Quaker controversialist; born in Crowell, Oxfordshire, Oct. 1639; died at Amersham, Bucks, March 1, 1713 (or 1714). His many works include a ‘Sacred History’ (1705; part ii. 1709), and he is noted for his friendship with Milton.
