Johann Valentin Andreä (1586–1654)

Andreä, Johann Valentin (än’drā). A German theologian and satirist (1586–1654). The chief among his writings partly in Latin, partly in German, full of ingenious thought, are: ‘Turbo’ (1616), a dramatic satire on the scholarship of his day; ‘Menippus’ (1617), 100 satirical dialogues; ‘Spiritual Pastime’ (1619).
