Giovanni Battista Andreini (1578–c. 1650)

Andreini, Giovanni Battista (än-drē’ā’nē). An Italian comedian and poet; born in Florence, 1578; died in Paris about 1650. From his sacred drama ‘Adam’ (1613), Milton is by some supposed to have derived the idea of ‘Paradise Lost.’
