|Fairfield, Sumner Lincoln. An American poet and prose-writer; born in Warwick, MA, June 25, 1803; died at New Orleans, LA, March 6, 1844. He began the publication of the North American Magazine in 1833; and continued to edit and publish it for five years. His published volumes include Lays of Melpomene (1824); Cities of the Plain (1828); Poems and Prose Writings (1840).|
