Manuel Fernández y González (1821–1888)

Fernández y González, Manuel (fer-nän’deth ē gōn-thä’leth). A Spanish poet and novelist; born at Seville, 1821; died on Jan. 16, 1888. He wrote plays: ‘Struggling against Fate’ (1848); ‘The Cid’ (1858); ‘A Duel on Time’ (1859); ‘Imperial Adventures’ (1864); and novels: ‘The Seven Children of Lara’ (1862); ‘The Bloody Queen’ (1883); ‘The Plantagenet Brothers’ (1889).
