Francis James Finn (1859–1928)
Finn, Francis James. An American Roman Catholic clergyman and author; born at St. Louis, MO, Oct. 4, 1859; died in 1928. He became a member of the Society of Jesus in 1879, and later was made professor of English literature at St. Zavier’s College, Cincinnati. His writings are mainly for young people and include: ‘Tom Playfair’; ‘Claude Lightfoot’; ‘Old Faces and New’; ‘Ada Merton’; ‘My Strange Friend’; ‘The Haunt of the Fairies’; ‘The Office Boy.’
