Johanna Franul von Weissenthurn (1773–1845)

Franul von Weissenthurn, Johanna (frän’öl fōn vīs’en-törn). A German dramatist and actress; born at Grünberg in Coblentz, 1773; died in Vienna, May 17, 1845. Her interpretations of stage emotions and characters made her an international celebrity; and her plays, in the edition of ‘Newest Dramas’ (1821), are works of great power.
