Abu-Nuvas (d. c. 810)

Abu-Nuvas (ä’bŏ-nö’vas). An Arabic poet; died around 810. He flourished at the court of the caliphs of Bagdad, writing in the style of Anacreon, some of the most notable songs of love and wine in all Arabic literature.
