Pieter Geiregat (1828–1902)

Geiregat, Pieter (gī-rā-gädt’). A Flemish novelist and dramatist; born in Ghent, Feb. 25, 1828; died at Ghent, in 1902. His best fictions are: ‘The Workman’s Life’ and ‘Folk Voices.’ Among the most widely known of his plays are: ‘Mother Rosa’; ‘Egmont’; and ‘The Two Sisters.’
