Alfred Hudson Guernsey (1824–1902)

Guernsey, Alfred Hudson. An American editor; born at Brandon, VT, 1824; died in New York City, Jan. 16, 1902. He was for several years editor of Harper’s Magazine. Together with Henry M. Alden he was author of ‘Harper’s Pictorial History of the Great Rebellion,’ writing the Eastern campaigns (2 vols., 1862–65); and ‘The Spanish Armada’ (1882).
