Carlos Guido y Spano (1827–1918)

Guido y Spano, Carlos (gē’dō ē spä’nō). An Argentine poet; born in Salta, 1827; died in 1918. He was graduated at the University of San Carlos, Buenos Aires; practiced law; was elected deputy to the national congress, and became its president. He is held in highest esteem by his countrymen. His poems are gathered in the volume entitled ‘Hojas al Viento,’ published in 1871.
