Lorenz Leopold Haschka (1749–1827)

Haschka, Lorenz Leopold (häsh’kä). An Austrian poet; born in Vienna, Sept. 1, 1749; died there, Aug. 3, 1827. His fame is mainly due to ‘God Save Emperor Francis,’ the national hymn of its period, and still an Austrian popular song.
