Juan de Arolas (1805–1849)

Arolas, Juan de (ä-rō’läs). A Spanish poet (1805–49). His first poems were amatory, but the works on which his fame rests are poems of chivalry and romance. A specimen of his best work is to be found in ‘The Sylph of the Aqueduct,’ a traditional Spanish legend told in various metres.
