Holley, Marietta. An American writer of humorous stories; born in Ellisburg, NY, 1844. The best known of her works are: ‘My Opinions and Betsey Bobbet’s’ (1873), and ‘Josiah Allen’s Wife’ (1878), besides many books relating the adventures of Samantha.
