Jedediah Vincent Huntington (1815–1862)
Huntington, Jedediah Vincent. An American poet and novelist; born in New York, Jan. 1815; died in France, 1862. Originally a physician, then an Episcopal clergyman, he became a Roman Catholic in 1849, and edited Roman Catholic magazines. He wrote: ‘Poems’ (1843); the striking novels, ‘Lady Alice, or the New Una’ (1849); ‘Alban, or the History of a Young Puritan’ (new ed. 1853), with its sequel ‘The Forest’ (1852); ‘Blonde and Brunette’ (1859); etc.
