Laurier, Sir Wilfrid. A Canadian statesman; born at St. Lin, Quebec, Nov. 20, 1841; died in 1919. From 1896–1911 he was Prime Minister of Canada. He was an effective orator both in French and in English. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
