Charles Bertrand Lewis (M Quad) (1842–1924)

Lewis, Charles Bertrand [“M. Quad”]. An American journalist and humorist; born in Liverpool, OH, Feb. 15, 1842; died in 1924. During the Civil War he served in the Union army. For many years he was on the staff of the Detroit Free Press. He published: ‘Quad’s Odds’ (1875); ‘Goaks and Tears’ (1875); ‘The Lime-Kiln Club.’
