Adams, Abigail. Wife of John Adams, second President of the United States; born at Weymouth, MA, Nov. 23, 1744; died at Quincy, MA, Oct. 28, 1818. Her letters, contained in ‘Familiar Letters of John Adams and his Wife Abigail Adams, during the Revolution’ (1876), evince keen political sagacity, and throw valuable light upon the men and the public affairs of the time.
