George Lunt (1803–1885)

Lunt, George. An American poet and prose-writer; born in Newburyport, MA, Dec. 31, 1803; died in Boston, May 17, 1885. During the Civil War he was associate editor, with George S. Hillard, of the Boston Courier. He published ‘Poems’ (1839); ‘The Age of Gold’ (1843); ‘The Dove and the Eagle’ (1851); ‘Lyric Poems’ (1854); ‘The Union,’ a poem (1860); ‘Origin of the Late War’ (1866); ‘Old New England Traits’ (1873).
