Charles Washington Baird (1828–1887)

Baird, Charles Washington. An American historian and religious writer, son of Robert Baird; born at Princeton, NJ, Aug. 28, 1828; died in Rye, NY, Feb. 10, 1887. Besides works on the Presbyterian liturgies (which he was the first to collect and investigate) and local histories, he wrote: ‘History of the Huguenot Emigration to America’ (2 vols., 1885). It is interesting especially to the genealogist.
