James Ballantine (1808–1877)

Ballantine, James. A Scotch poet; born in Edinburgh, June 11, 1808; died on Dec. 18, 1877. In addition to achieving distinction as an artist, he wrote various noted poems, including ‘The Gaberlunzie’s Wallet’ (1843); ‘One Hundred Songs’ (1865); and two or three collections of verse.
