Maria Montessori (1870–1952)

Montessori, Maria (mon-tes-sō’rē). An Italian educator; born in 1870; died in 1952. Her educational method, the outgrowth of her work among feebleminded, and at the House of Childhood in Rome, among normal children, attracted wide attention. She published: ‘Pedagogic Anthropology’ and ‘Method of Scientific Pedagogy.’
