Arthur Joseph Munby (1828–1910)

Munby, Arthur Joseph. An English poet; born in the wapentake of Bulmer, Yorkshire, 1828; died in 1910. His themes are largely pastoral idylls. He wrote: ‘Verses Old and New’ (1865); ‘Dorothy’ (1880); which was well received; ‘Vestigia Retrorsum’ (Steps Backward: 1891); ‘Vulgar Verses, by Jones Brown’ (1891), mostly in dialect; ‘Susan’ (1893).
