James Orton (1830–1877)

Orton, James. An American clergyman, naturalist, and traveler; born at Seneca Falls, NY, April 21, 1830; died on Lake Titicaca, Peru, Sept. 25, 1877. His works are: ‘The Andes and the Amazon’ (1870); ‘Underground Treasures’ (1872); ‘Liberal Education of Women’ (1873); ‘Comparative Zoölogy’ (1875).
