Pānini (Fourth Century B.C.)

Pānini (pä’nē-nē). A celebrated Indian philologist of the fourth century B.C. There is extant a philological work written by him consisting of eight books of Sanskrit grammatical rules; it was published at Calcutta (2 vols., 1809).
