Persius (34–62 A.D.)

Persius Flaccus, Aulus (pėr’shi-us flak’us). A Latin satiric poet; born at Volaterræ in Etruria, 34 A.D.; died in 62 A.D. He wrote but six satires, and they are all extant. The meaning is often very obscure because of unintelligible allusions and excessive brevity. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
