Charles Jacobs Peterson (1819–1887)

Peterson, Charles Jacobs. An American publisher and novelist; born in Philadelphia, 1819; died there, 1887. He was the founder of Peterson’s Magazine, and the author of several popular novels. His works include: ‘Military Heroes of the United States’ (1847); ‘Cruising in the Last War’ (1849); ‘Grace Dudley’ (1849); ‘Kate Aylesford’ (1855); ‘Mabel’ (1857).
