Pisan, Christine de (pē-zä‘). A French poet; born at Venice, 1364; died about 1431. Among her poems are: ‘An Epistle to the God of Love’ (1399); ‘Feats of Arms and of Chivalry’ (1404); ‘Life and Good Ways of the Wise King Charles V.’ [of France] (1404); ‘Lamentations over the Evils of the Civil War’ (1410); ‘Moral Sayings.’
