Jean Baptiste Aimé Sanson de Pongerville (1782–1870)

Pongerville, Jean Baptiste Aimé Sanson de (pô-zhā-vēl’). A French miscellaneous writer; born at Abbeville in Somme, March 3, 1782; died at Paris, Jan. 24, 1870. His great work is a scholarly metrical translation of the Latin poet Lucretius. He translated also into French verse some of Ovid’s works, under the title ‘Mythological Amours.’
