Maria Louise Pool (1841–1898)
Pool, Maria Louise. An American journalist and novelist; born in Rockland, MA, Aug. 20, 1841; died there, May 19, 1898. At one time she was connected with the New York Tribune. Her best-known works are ‘In Buncombe County’; ‘A Vacation in a Buggy’ (1887); ‘Tenting at Stony Beach’ (1888); ‘Rowena in Boston’ (1892); ‘In a Dike Shanty’ (1896).
