Friedrich August von Quenstedt (1809–1889)
Quenstedt, Friedrich August von (kwen’stet). A German mineralogist and geologist; born at Eisleben, July 9, 1809; died on Dec. 21, 1889, at Tübingen, where he was professor in the university. Among his works are: ‘Epochs of Nature’ (1861); ‘Then and Now’ (1856), popular expositions of geology; ‘Manual of Mineralogy.’
