Honorat de Bueil de Racan (1589–1670)

Racan, Honorat de Bueil de (rä-kä‘). A French poet; born in Touraine in 1589; died in 1670. He was a member of the French Academy, and a friend of Malherbe. He published ‘Pastorals’ (1628), and a number of other poems, during his lifetime. His works were collected and published at Paris in 1724.
