Ralston, William Ralston Shedden. An English writer on Russian folklore; born in 1828; died in 1889. He devoted himself to Russian studies, and published: ‘Kriloff and his Fables’ (1869); ‘Liza’ (1869); ‘Songs of the Russian People’ (1872); ‘Russian Folk-Tales’ (1873); and ‘Early History of Russia’ (1874).
