Edmond Rostand (1868–1918)

Rostand, Edmond (rōs-tä‘). A French author and dramatist; born in Marseilles, France, in 1868; died in 1918. Among his plays are: ‘Les Romanesques’ (1894); ‘Far Away Princess’ (1895); ‘La Samaritaine’ (1897); ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ (1897); ‘L’Aiglon’ (1900); ‘Chantecler’ (1910).
