Nehemiah Adams (1806–1878)
Adams, Nehemiah. An American clergyman and author; born in Salem, MA, Feb. 19, 1806; died in Boston, Oct. 6, 1878. He will be chiefly remembered as the author of a work entitled ‘A South Side View of Slavery’ (1854), which was severely criticized by the antislavery party. Among his other publications are: ‘Under the Mizzenmast’ (1871); ‘Walks to Emmaus’ (1879); ‘Remarks on Unitarian Belief’; ‘Life of John Eliot.’
