Schmid, Ferdinand von (1823–1888)

Dranmor (drän’mōr), pseudonym of Ferdinand von Schmid. A Swiss poet; born in Muri, Switzerland, July 22, 1823; died in Bern, March 17, 1888. He was in mercantile life and also in the Austrian diplomatic service for years; but his ‘Poetic Fragments’ (1860) and ‘Requiem’ (1870) have added his name to the list of poets.
