Harry Bache Smith (1860–1936)

Smith, Harry Bache. An American author, dramatist, and critic; born in Buffalo, NY, in 1860; died in 1936. Among his many opera librettos are ‘Robin Hood,’ ‘Rob Roy,’ ‘The Fortune Teller,’ ‘Wizard of the Nile,’ ‘Foxy Quiller,’ ‘The Casino Girl,’ ‘Liberty Belles,’ ‘Rich Mr. Hoggenheimer,’ ‘Watch Your Step.’ He also wrote ‘Will Shakespeare’ (a comedy) (1893); ‘Lyrics and Sonnets’ (1894); ‘Stage Lyrics’ (1901).
