Sergey Stepnyak-Kravchinsky (Stepniak) (1851–1895)

Stepniak, Sergius Michael Dragomanov (S. Karchevsky) (step’nyäk). A noted Russian nihilist; born at Gadjatch, government of Poltava, 1851; died at Chiswick, Dec. 23, 1895. Having been exiled in 1876, he lived in Geneva and London. Among his works are ‘The Turks Within and Without’ (1876); ‘Underground Russia’ (1881); ‘Tyrannicide in Russia’ (1881); ‘The Career of a Nihilist,’ a novel (1889).
