Stuart, Mrs. Ruth (McEnery). An American writer of fiction; born in Avoyelles Parish, LA, Feb. 20, 1856; died at New York, May 6, 1917. Her published writings include: ‘A Golden Wedding, and Other Tales’; ‘Carlotta’s Intended, and Other Stories’; ‘The Story of Babette’; ‘Solomon Crow’s Christmas Pockets’; ‘Pockets and Other Tales’; ‘The Second Wooing of Salina Sue’; ‘Sonny’; ‘Hally and Pizen’; ‘Aunt Amity’s Silver Wedding’; ‘The Haunted Photograph’; ‘The Cacoon’ (1915).
