Pierre-Laurent Buirette de Belloy (1727–1775)
Belloy, Pierre-Laurent Buirette de (bel-wä’), properly Buirette. A French dramatist; born in 1727; died in 1775. He won success with the tragedies ‘The Siege of Calais’ (1765) and ‘Gaston and Bayard’ (1771), and was elected to the Academy in 1771.
