Thomas of Erceldoune [Thomas the Rhymer]. A legendary Scottish poet and prophet of the thirteenth century; he is the hero of a romance and his prophecies have been collected. Thomas seems to have been a real person. He is not the author of ‘Sir Tristrem.’
