Hugh Miller Thompson (1830–1902)
Thompson, Hugh Miller. Protestant Episcopal bishop of Mississippi; born in Londonderry County, Ireland, June 5, 1830; died in 1902. He was editor of the American Churchman, Chicago, 1860–70, and of the Church Journal, New York, 1870–77. Among his numerous works are: ‘Unity and its Restoration’ (1859); ‘First Principles’ (1863); ‘The World and the Kingdom’ (1888); ‘More Copy’ (1897).
