Adolf Tobler (1835–1910)

Tobler, Adolf (tō’bler). A Swiss philologist of Romance languages; born at Hirzel, Zürich, May 24, 1835; died in 1910. He became professor in the University of Berlin, 1867. He wrote: ‘French Versification in Ancient and Modern Times’ (1880); ‘Miscellaneous Contributions to French Grammar’ (1886).
