Ferenc Toldy (1805–1875)

Toldy, Ferenc (tol’dē). A Hungarian historian of literature; born at Budapest, Aug. 10, 1805; died there, Dec. 10, 1875, professor of Hungarian literature. He wrote: ‘Manual of Hungarian Poetry’ (1828); ‘History of the Hungarian National Literature’ (1851); ‘History of Hungarian Poetry’ (1857).
