William Henry Trescot (1822–1898)

Trescot, William Henry. An American diplomatist; born in Charleston, NC, Nov. 10, 1822; died in 1898. He is the author of ‘Foreign Policy of the United States’ (1849); ‘Diplomacy of the Revolution’ (1852); ‘An American View of the Eastern Question’ (1854); ‘Diplomatic History of the Administrations of Washington and Adams’ (1857); besides various memoirs, addresses, and pamphlets.
