Martin de Ulloa (1730–1800)

Ulloa, Martin de (öl-yō’ä). A Spanish philologist and historical writer; born at Seville, 1730; died at Cordova, 1800. He wrote: ‘Memoir on the Origin and Genius of the Castilian Language’ (1760); ‘Dissertation on the Origin of the Goths’ (1781); ‘Researches on the First Inhabitants of Spain’ (1789); ‘Dissertation on Duels’ (1789).
