Geoffroi de Villehardouin (d. c. 1212)

Villehardouin, Geoffroi de (vēl-är-dwa‘). A French diplomatist and historian; born at Arcis-sur-Aube about 1165; died about 1212. He participated in the Fourth Crusade and the sack of Constantinople, and wrote a most valuable account of it, entitled ‘The History of the Capture of Constantinople by the French and Venetians.’
