Vittorio Betteloni (1840–1910)

Betteloni, Vittorio (bet-el-ō’nē). An Italian poet; born in Verona, 1840; died in 1910. He was educated in Pisa, and was professor of Italian literature and history in the Female College in Verona. His verse proves him an adherent of that Italian classical school which dates from 1869, and includes: ‘In the Springtime’ (1869); ‘New Stanzas’ (1880); and a translation of Goethe’s ‘Hermann and Dorothea.’
